Katerina Petrova was born into a wealthy Bulgarian family on June 5th 1473. She was forced to drink Vampire blood after a suicide attempt, while she was in captivity from the original Hybrid Niklaus Mikaelson's followers. With the blood in her system, she hung herself the first chance she got which in turn made her herself, a vampire. She escaped and returned to Bulgaria in the latter months of 1492 to find her entire family brutally slaughtered by Klaus.
